      Description: This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to generate design solutions in response to a particular design need. The unit applies to those who generate concepts and solutions in response to a design challenge in any industry context. The starting point may be an open or closed brief; a spontaneous idea; modification of an existing product, service, process or system; or a point in an ongoing design process.

      Description: This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to use typography techniques in design work. At this level, work would be undertaken independently, but within established guidelines and with guidance as required.

      Description: This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to research and apply techniques to produce graphic design work. Research, experimentation and refinement are used to produce a range of general design works. Individuals generally produce work independently, with guidance as required.
