Overview
This course is suited to people who are already qualified in either of the 10 Automotive qualifications listed below and are currently working in the automotive industry, who are looking to apply for their Refrigerant Handling Licence (RHL)/AAC02 - Automotive Air Conditioning Licence. This statement of attainment will provide you with the skills and knowledge to service, diagnose and repair air conditioning systems including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) in a range of different vehicles.
National units of competency to be studied:
- AURETU103 Service air conditioning and HVAC systems
- AURETU104 Diagnose and repair air conditioning and HVAC systems
A TL000 - Trainee Automotive Air Conditioning Licence is required for a person who is handling refrigerant while undertaking this training. Students will be required to apply for this licence once enrolled into the course. Apply at: .
Note:
A Refrigerant Handling Licence (RHL) must be held by any person who carries out work in relation to refrigerant air conditioning equipment. Carrying out work in relation to refrigerant air conditioning equipment means to do anything with a fluorocarbon refrigerant, or a component of refrigerant air conditioning equipment, that carries the risk of refrigerant being emitted, including decanting the refrigerant or manufacturing, installing, commissioning, servicing, or maintaining refrigerant air conditioning equipment or decommissioning refrigerant air conditioning equipment.

You will need to wear the appropriate personal protective clothing when in the ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú Automotive Workshops. These include:
- Overalls
- Long pants - cotton drill/ jeans
- Leather safety boots
- Safety glasses

This statement of attainment is for only individuals who hold one of the 10 Automotive qualifications listed below, who work in automotive mechanical or electrical technical contexts, and would like to apply for an Refrigerant Handling Licence (RHL)/AAC02 - Automotive Air Conditioning Licence.
Must hold one of the following ten (10) qualifications:
- AUR21416 (previous AUR21412) Certificate II in Automotive Cooling System Technology or equivalent
- AUR20416 (previous AUR20412) Certificate II in Automotive Electrical Technology or equivalent
- AUR30316 (previous AUR30312) Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology or equivalent
- AUR31716 (previous AUR31712) Certificate III in Forklift Technology or equivalent or equivalent
- AUR30616 (previous AUR30612) Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
- AUR30416 (previous AUR30412) Certificate III in Agricultural Technology or equivalent
- AUR31116 (previous AUR31114 or AUR31112) Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
- AUR31216 (previous AUR31212) Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent
- AUR31416 Certificate III in Automotive Diesel Fuel Technology or equivalent
- AUR31516 Certificate III in Automotive Diesel Engine Technology or equivalent

Skills Recognition
To study any course at ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú (excluding non-accredited training) you must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
Literacy Skills Information
We suggest that you will need Australian Core Skills Framework literacy levels of at least 3 across reading, writing, learning, oral communication and, depending on your course of study, numeracy skills to successfully complete this course.
